In today's Tutorial Tuesday you will learn how to make your own homemade fabric holder with a vinyl pocket for your vaccine card. Whether you are needing to show your Covid-19 vaccination record for travel or work, or need to take it out to get a possible booster shot, these homemade colorful novelty fabric holders are a cute way to keep your card on hand and protected.
When closed, the dimensions are approximately 3 3/4" x 4 1/2" so they fit your standard 3" tall x 4" wide immunization card issued by the CDC. When opened, the fabric vaccination card holder measures approximately 4 1/2 x 7 1/2".
For this project you will need:
- main fabric
- lining fabric
- fabric strip
- light weight or medium weight iron on interfacing
- clear vinyl, 12+ gauge
- Scissors
- Fabric clips
- Rotary cutter
- Cutting ruler
- Cutting mat
- Iron
- Sewing machine
- Matching thread
- Teflon sewing machine foot or painter’s tape
