In today's tutorial we will learn how to make an extra large rainbow hot pad from fabric strips. This mat is great for protecting your counters and tabletops from casserole dishes and extra long glass pans. In the bright colors of the rainbow it makes a great gift and is easy for any sewing level!

For this project you will need:

• 7 fabric strips in the color of the rainbow
• backing fabric
• cotton batting
• Insul-Bright 
• fabric clips or pins
• scissors or rotary cutter, cutting ruler, and cutting mat
• iron and ironing board
• sewing machine and matching thread
• optional walking foot
